Both an artist and sculptor, Philippe Audibert is inspired by his Parisian neighbourhood Saint Germain des Pré. He creates exquisite, metal jewelry decorated with Swarovski crystals.
Cocosa, who will be hosting a 48 hour private sale for Philippe Audibert, chats with the French designer.
C: Whose style do you most admire?
PA: I do admire a lot of designers but I think that Karl Lagerfeld is the most complete designer and he had managed his image extremely well.
C: What dressing rule should every woman live by live by?
PA: I believe that every woman has to follow her own desires and tastes. But if you really believe there are rules and you don’t want to make mistakes, then wear one colour head-to-toe for a "total look".
C: What can’t you leave your house without?
PA: My mobile phone - one of the most important inventions of the previous century.
C: Woman go crazy about anything that sparkles. What is it about jewellery that makes it so desirable?
PA: If seduction was a war, jewellery would be the weapons.
C: What's your greatest indulgence?
PA: I cannot say that I am a very patient man in my everyday life, but I am an indulgent person in terms of time when I am with children. They are so authentic and natural - they have the ability to make me smile even when everything goes wrong.
C: Describe your perfect day to us...
PA: That is easy - it wasn’t that long ago. It was my wedding day. After 20 years of our life together and three great children she finally decided to say "yes" and to become my wife with all my friends and closest family.
C: If you had three wishes what would they be?
PA: I would love to become immortal in order to see the future. The second one might be to have a real island just for me. I would love to produce organic agriculture and live more like a "Robinson Crusoe". And finally to speak all the languages in the world to be able to communicate with everyone wherever I go.
